Learnership
_________________________________________________________________________________
Learnerships are new paraprofessional and vocational education training programmes. The first stage begins with structured theoretical learning which is conducted at Dynamix’ authorised ISETT premises to deliver the best training available to meet the unit standards required. The second stage with the employer provides an opportunity to gain practical workplace experience. Together they culminate in an occupational qualification that is registered by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and must be at least 120 credits. The Learnership must be registered with the Director-General Department of Labour in the form of a Learnership agreement.

According to the National Skills Development Strategy (Objective 5), by March 2005, a minimum of 80 000 people under the age of 30 need to have entered into Learnerships.
To fast track the development of current employees and to offer current employees opportunities to acquire qualifications as well as creating new opportunities.
Learnerships especially serve as an entry point for young people into the industry and professionalize the industry by affording young people an opportunity to acquire a qualification.

Of Learnership Agreements submitted, at least 85% of learners should be Black (including African, Indian, Asian and Coloured) and 54% of learners should be women. Where learners with disabilities can be accommodated in the workplace, priority shall be given to such applications.
Unemployed learners should preferably be under the age of 30 years. Unless the workplace has a specific learner in mind then we will source the best available candidates to match the objectives of the Learnership. Psychometric and other Assessment battery tests will be administered to screen the best candidates from the pool previously mentioned.

An agreement must be concluded between the employer, the learner and the provider (i.e. a Learnership Agreement). This is only required at the start of the Learnership program once the company has either provided or chosen their learner(s). Currently all that is required are Letters of Intent to state that there is interest in the program.
There must be an employer (e.g. a college or private provider cannot offer a Learnership - they may offer the theoretical component thereof)
The Learnership Agreements must be registered by the SETA.

If you are interested in this programme then begin with the Letter of Intent. From there we’ll provide you with the forms and begin exploring the possibilities that exist to enrol your workplace into our Learnership. Please note that the Learnership is limited in seats particularly with some organisations making block reservations.
